Mount Bromo
Mount Bromo is an active volcano in East Java, Indonesia. It is part of the Tengger mountains, and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region. Mount Bromo has a height of 2,329 meters, but it is not the highest peak in the massif. It is famous for its stunning sunrise views and its crater that emits white smoke. Mount Bromo is also a sacred place for the local Tengger people, who believe that it is the site where a prince sacrificed his life for his family. They hold an annual festival called Kasada, where they throw offerings into the crater to appease the gods.
